Michigan Musical Instrument Services(I'm guessing at the name from memory) has a link off of Custom Musics web page. If you explore it long enough you will find pictures and descriptions of various slide trigger machanisms such as what you describe. Kevin Powers(I'm trying to recall his name) may be the guy to talk to about this.
