I have a Meinl Weston 2165 Deck Model CC tuba. It is a 4 piston/1 rotary
valve, 6/4 size instrument
built in 1994. It has the heavy bell ring in the bell. I have been working
with Meinl Weston for 12 years as a design consultant and I selected this
instrument for my personal use. It plays as well or better than any I have
played with the exception of one of Warren's that I tested.

The instrument is generally in very good condition. There are a few minor
dents in the bottom bow and some scratches on the back side of the bottom bow.
In addition, on the back of the left side of the instrument, there are
scratches that were the result of travel in an older gigbag. I have a
Meinl-Weston gigbag that is new with the instrument (5 months old).

I have been using the instrument in the Cedar Rapids Symphony for the past 5
seasons and enjoying it very much. My reason for selling is that I have a
sabbatical for the fall semester and will be spending the period from May til
January in Europe. I intend to have an instrument built for me during that period.....probably the same model.......and I would like to have the funds from the sale of this instrument to help with the project.

Because I am in a bit of a hurry, I am asking $8000 for the tuba and case. Currently, the list for this instrument is $15,000 and even the Brasswind price is $9995, so I believe it will be a good purchase for someone. If interested, please contact me at my email address:
