Contact Local 703, the Houston Musicians Union and let them know you'll be in town. I'm sure they can help if you are a member of a union somewhere. you may need to gat a travelling card from your home local.
Also, contact Daryl Bayer. He's a local trumpet player (VERY GOOD) and let him know you're in the area. He does a lot of the quintet contracting in the Houton area. Also there is the Texas Music Festival at the University of Houston. Possibly a chance to work with David Kirk, also a fine player and a great guy.
By the way, say Hi to Daryl for me if you talk to him.
