The rim surely is different from the Schilke Helleberg II which seems to work well for me. I played the G3 and the S1 today and have an F1 which I got a couple of years ago. I do like the comfort of the rim (but miss the edge I've come to expect as Scott points out). For me the biggest down-side of these mouthpieces was the rim size -- it's a little biggeer than the SH II. I don't have a large mouth and so a little smaller rim size is easier for me to use. The SH II is about as big a rim as I'm comfortable with. That said, I think these are excellent, well made mouthpieces at fair prices, about 30% less than a Schilke Helleberg II.
