This past summer I bought a Walt Johnson case for my Yorkbrunner. I have the Swiss made hard case that came with the horn which I have used on a daily basis since 1984 when I bought the instrument new. It has been a good case but because of its age and some patching I've had done to it I did not want to risk flying with it. The Johnson case seemed to be the way to go, and it has not been a disapointment. I've taken 2 plane trips with it and I have sent it off by itself in order to ship a tuba (another Yorkbrunner) from Boston to St. Louis. Each time the instrument came through unscathed. Also the Johnson cases can be custom fit to whatever instrument model you play. My price for the 6/4 size case was about $770 which included freight charges for delivery, and I took delivery in less than 4 weeks after my order was taken. Nice people to deal with also.

I have no experience with any of the Meinl cases.
