I'd like to know of one professional that pulls there slides to project better, sounds like Johnny is still in high school. One thing one of my teachers taught me was to make sure your bell was never pointing "into" anything. I suppose this comes from Jacob's teachings. Make sure your bell is always a clear shot to the back of the hall, so as to not disturb the overtones you are producing.
