I totally agree! I'm a diehard F-tuba person and the new Nirschl could almost make me want to switch. I played the Besson, Willson and Nirschl Eb's just for kicks at the Army Band Conference and the SERTEC in Kentucky. The first 2 were good...very good, but the Nirschl's intonation and response clearly outclassed any of the others, in my opinion. The sound is big and round (without being woofy) and could fit anywhere. Even my euphonium-playing friend, who is VERY picky when it comes to the sound of a horn (he found points to pick at about the Hirsbrunner euph!!!), looked at me and was amazed. If you've got the money to spend on it, the Nirschl is IT, hands-down!
