Hello. Music is a wonderful experiance that can happen whenever you want it to. You have a life time to have as many wonderful experiances as you can possibly manage. If playing becomes unattractive then figure out how to make it more attractive! If this seems impossible at the time then stop. Taking a break is not a crime!!! Play music all the time-- Practice is for atheletes:) Music is for fun! If it turns into a task or an every day job to earn money, think about what you are getting yourself into. There are much easier ways to make money, but nothing is as rewarding as doing what you are good at- AND LOVING IT:) Contrary to what is said above, I know that woodsheding is important for enhancing your technical abilities, but don't over do it my friend. As my instructor Mr. Robinson told me "Practice is a personal thing my boy. All the gigs and Bands and other stuff is for other people, but practice is for you. Always practice for yourself."
