My hand/fingers are fairly small, and I find it is next to impossible to use 4th valve in a fast moving passage because I must drop my wrist to get the 4th spatula then move it up again to get fingers on the others, especially 1st. I am taking it to the shop next week to have the spatulas narrowed and then 1st and 4th curved inward to fit my ittsy bittsy hand. I've found that fingers fairly flat on the spatulas work fine, but I think one should use the finger tips rather than the half of the finger.
