Now there are a couple of interesting names. Where is Fred Marzan now? And, re: different pitched horns, didn't Ivan Hammond have D and G tubas back before anyone else ever thought of trying such a thing? I can only imagine the size the "big" Martins must be, the only Martins I've been around are Paul Bierley's and I think the one has a 23" bell--we stuck his horn and mine on a scale and my 5 valve 3/4 RM only weighted half a pound more.
