Matt, I was an "anchor-tounger" until recently and can empathize as I have made myself tounge behind my teeth. Don't give in to letting your tounge slip between your teeth in the low register. Let the jaw relax as the tounge flattens out AND KEEP ALOT OF AIR MOVING OVER IT. Make sure you aren't trying to blow too hard low, use a whole bunch of air SLOW. It will happen in time. Good luck, can't help you with the tingling thing except to say when I am blowing loud for a protracted period of time, this sometimes happens. It hasn't hurt me, so I never worried about it.
