I believe doubler is incorrect. Unless I'm mistaken, your body releases less oxygen than it takes in, thus the rapid inhalation and exhalation results in oxygen-rich blood. I believe the dizziness is a result of TOO MUCH oxygen in the blood and not TOO LITTLE. When one is hyperventilating, a paper bag is put over the mouth to lessen the amount of oxygen intake. In a similar vein (pun fully intended), a lot of tubists advocate inhaling a teensy bit of air back through the mouthpiece and tuba when you inhale (I believe Mr. Jacobs used to talk of the merits of such a technique). You would in essence be taking back into your lungs oxygen-depleted air that your body has just expelled, thus lowering your oxygen intake. Maybe someone could share some more technical data on such a phenomenon.
