Contrary to some anonymous "tip" from ???? the reports of my demise from UNT are greatly exaggerated!!! I have been here at the College of Music since August of 1999 and have no intention of leaving! We have a big studio here at UNT, right now 22 euphonium majors(both performance and music education). I currently teach 15 students personally and have a graduate assistant that meets with the others. All of the students play for me each week in a 2 hour master class and play in a tuba euphonium ensemble each week. I also conduct a brass band as one of the ensembles so some of the players have me for a total of 6 hours a week!

I do some rotation with the students that I teach but the performance majors and graduate students have priority. However, the major criteria for being in my studio is the amount of practice and hard work willing to be done.

You can get more information about the school at the web site: http://www.music.unt.edu/
There is also a beginning web site about the tuba/Euphonium studios at:
http://www.music.unt.edu/instrumental/tuba/ or contact me directly at bbowman(AT)music.unt.edu

I am particularly looking for a graduate assistant this next year who would be qualified to do college level teaching.

Dr. Brian L. Bowman, Professor of Euphonium, University of North Texas
