The woodwnd/brasswind does indeed have a strong selection of instruments. I just purchased a Bach 50K3L from the b-stock for under $1700. It plays great, but it did have damage to the bell. If you do select the b-stock, you will have this, but if you are looking for great horns with a little cosmetic damage, this is a good place.

If you want new, and you are not interested in axial flow valves, getzen makes the afore mentioned 1052FD and 1062FD basses that are selling in your price range. The in-line version comes with interchangable leadpipes. I believe brasswind has them in stock. The holton TR181 is also a good option.

Dillon has a good supply on the web. There are three yamaha in-lines listed as of this week, all in your price range.

Good luck.

Tom
