laquering... cost, and effects on horn.

Just a few things I've been wondering about, and was hoping some of the more knowlegable members of this BBS could help me out.

Say,hypothetically, I wanted to buy a brand new tuba in the $5-$7k range.
Let's say this tuba was only available in a laquer finish.
Let's say I don't really like the look of a laquer finish, and wanted a silver, or a satin finish.

Now, with that in mind, how much would each finish cost? (Price for silver finish on a 4/4 CC horn, 4+1, and prive for satin silver finish on that same horn)

Secondly, how could this affect the horn? Is there anything done in the laquering process that could significantly affect the playing of the horn? If this is a horn that normally plays nearly perfectly in tune for me, is there a chance that changing the finish could worsen the intonation? Can the laquering significantly affect the overall sound? Response in different registers? Projection? etc..

This is something I'd like to have done, but it is strictly cosmetic, so if there's a chance it could worsen the horn, then I don't want to do it. Thanks in advance for any constructive input.
