At the suggestion of people from this bbs, I called Taylor Music in Aberdeen
S.D. on 12-26-00 to inquire about purchasing this tuba. I wanted this specific
make and model because it was the the one I had in High School and stupidly sold
to buy a car.I spoke with Amy at Taylor's and we came to an agreement about cases
nouthpieces and such. Total price was $2764.00. That included The beautifully
refinished 49 year old tuba, two custom built cases, shipping charge of $110,
and a bach 24w mouthpiece. The horn looks fabulous, even up close, It's not perfect
I didn't expect it to be. It is nicely lacquered, and virtually dent and scratch
free, with some tiny ripples in areas that would have been impossible to fully rework.
It sounds great, with a big fat sound, but still plays well up high. Thanks to everyone
who helped me with this, anyone with more questions about Taylor, or the horn please
post or E-mail me
