You stumbled onto the real secret. If you buy a horn that doesn't match your natural playing style, (articulation, air velocity, that tuba sound in your head, etc.) your body will change to get the feedback that it wants. Now instead ofspending energy to create music, you spend energy to compensate for a horn (Complete topic of why a more expensive horn can be less costly.). If you have a strong enough mental concept, which it seems you did, you will learn to play any horn. Are you now working too hard to get the extra backpressure that you seem to like? Thank you for a very good topic that has become dear to my heart.
