My question wasn't intended to raise doubt as to the age of your horn, only to ask how you arrived at it. I still have the original spatulas, flat "clock" springs and "S" linkages on my Alex. They aren't really spatulas. Buttons is a more accurate term, and they really are smaller than a quarter. I have only a limited interest in Alex history and even less knowledge. It could very well be that the 164 made in 1957 was essentially the same as that made in 1920. It is indeed a wonderful horn.
