I can only give you advice on one thing. I have never had problems with the leadpipe height on a horn because I use a "lap pad". It is simply a pad that lets you create a pivot point on your left leg therefore allowing your left hand to be free and also adjust the horn to a good height for playablity. The stewart stand works on a pin and rest concept but my fears of impaling myself are to great with that setup. I simply use a mousepad (cheaply bought) with the blak rubber neoprene bottom and cut it into equal fourth's nad glue them together to make two lap pads. The last a year or two and are easily made and replaced. I highly recommend this for your comfort with any horn not just the ones you mention. This way you aren't limited by the horns leadpipe ergonomics and you won't be dissapointed as easily. Plus the left hand freedom allows you to adjust slides easier for optimum tuning.
Good Luck,
Matt G
