This should be a great concert with fine solos. If I was in the neighborhood, I would certainly attend.
My question is this:
Why are great musicians playing Carnival of Venice, three miniatures, the Kraft, the barat etc... etc... AGAIN AND AGAIN?
I think there is room in the rep for new transcriptions at least. Maybe another arbans fantasie, a different piece by barat, something else by vaughn williams. The Kraft in particular is getting on my nerves. When it was exciting and new, it was exciting and new. There is certainly room in the rep for something avantgarde by today's standards.
