Tim,

I fully comply with your first point. This is the most important in grabing an appropriate instrument.

However, economics and quality of life are important as well. Computing costs for the HB 392 in the US and in Switzerland is somehow different. For currently less than 9000 $ for the HB 392 in Switzerland (without VAT) the issue remains why the curious, global and perhaps "non-average" consumer/buyer (see also comments on hirsbrunner below in the BBS), should not be able to transfer such a tuba for less or a little bit more than another 1000 bucks from Switzerland while having a nice trip and getting great experience at the same time.

At the end of the day, your pockets would lack approximately 10000 $ in both cases (Tim C. and my proposal), but life in between would have been definitly different.

Sincerely yours
