You guys are probably right. I do tend to get on my high horse when I see obvious discrepancies between what is said and what is later said.
I see a tendency in society for people to say whatever is convenient or expedient without regard for the strict truth, and then expect everyone else to "give them the benefit of the doubt" and cut them slack. As a businessman, I run into this so frequently and with so many negative consquences that it has made me a bit too sensitive. So, when I react to a minor case with no real consequences like this one, it carries built-up frustration from more major cases where people broke trust and I over-react. I apologize.
But I like my nom-de-plume, even if I did steal it from you.
