I'm pretty d--n picky, so you should consider that an endorsement. The intonation, workmanship, round tone quality, and projection are all very acceptable, and this is an EXCELLENT alternative at the "Miraphone" price point.

sales pitch: If you are ever in the market for more of a "Mercedes/BMW" tuba, I offer prices on Willson CC's around $500 less than those I've seen...However, since I don't try to keep them in the store, the wait could be as much as 90 days (...enough time for somebody to "get their money together"?).
