Not for a Yamaha. That mouthpiece bottles up the lower register of a YFB-621 severely. I have a PT-9 (the old number for PT-64), and it was fine on my German-style F tuba. I had it based on the recommendation of a pro who used one on his large-bore B&S F.

But on the 621, it is kills the low register terribly. When I chucked that mouthpiece and used a regular contrabass mouthpiece (first a Miraphone Rose Orchestra, then a Warburton with a big cub and a medium backbore, and now with a Conn Helleberg), the horn just opens up.

I don't know whether this would also be true on the 822, and I can't tell which of these two instruments the first poster means. But for the smaller 621, the PT-64 is the wrong mouthpiece.
