Ditto to everything that has come before my comments. I, like some of the others, have been around long enough to know of what I speak. I periodically do some directing with school-aged students, and I always tell them that music is like a good friend that will ALWAYS be with you. It also sounds like you have a "friendship" with that horn.
In any event, I hope you make the decision that is best for you.
