I didn't notice too much difference, but there was SOME. I didn't find the horn to respond as fast as a brass belled one. Kinda like playing a heavyweight mouthpiece, the only difference is you have to blow harder(my opinion). As far as I'm concerned, fiberglass sousaphones sound fine in the right hands. I don't stand on principal or have an abiding interest in the manufacture or make-up of tubas. If it works for me, then I play it. I could care or less for the name, key, or ethnic origin. I do appreciate your technical insights, even if they tend to fly over my head.
