As a collegue and close personal friend of Chris, I can tell you that you are dead wrong. Chis is quite possibly the hardest working, nicest guy, and best tubist that I have encountered in my life. To answer you post "chris tiedeman lucked out." Every audition involves a little bit of luck. " there were so many people who deserved the spot and played a crap load better and got shafted." Chris deserves that spot (see above) just as much as anyone else. How can you tell who got "shafted" anyway? At the audition, canidates were not allowled to listen to the other auditions. I recomend that next time, you read the instruction printed at the top of the page and play the correct octave!
