I might suggest a couple of tunes that would work pretty well for a more, ahem, typical high school senior:

Mozart- Bassoon Concerto
Curnow- Rhapsody for Euphonium
Telemann- Sonata in f minor
Bellstedt- Napoli
Capuzzi- Andante and Rondo

If these seem too pedestrian, you might try some of these:
Horovitz- Euph Concerto (mvts. 1&2)
David- Concertino for Trombone
Jacob- Fantasia
White- Lyric Suite

When I was in high school, I couldn't have played any of these tunes, let alone the Boccalari. I'd really recommend mastering something from the top list. There are still PLENTY of technical challenges in these tunes.
