Klaus, I'm sorry that you didn't like Doug Yeo's advice, since I know that he has used one of my mouthpieces on bass trumpet, and I assume he still does! It's a Schilke 60 style rim on a shallow cup with a tenor shank, easy to make with my standard parts.
The reamers you might want are known as Taper Pin reamers. Numbers 6 and 7 are the right ones for tuba mouthpieces. They have much less taper than Morse taper reamers.
