I made a few of these, in different thicknesses (.006" wall thickness to .012"), for
adapting my Marcinkiewicz shanks to my Alex F. I ended up spinning some hobby brass tubing
onto a steel mandrel I turned with a .050"/" taper, then cutting the brass to the desired thickness and soldering a ring to the top to aid in removing the thing.
Given the taper of the shank, .006" additional wall thickness translates to .240" less insertion depth.

For experiments, one or more turns of Mylar packing tape (the 2" wide, clear stuff) will hold up for a few weeks, or until you get valve oil on the tape.
