It was a great surprise to learn, that August Helleberg was a Dane, who had emigrated to the US.

The name Helleberg could be Danish from the structure (with one possible translation being "the safe hill"), but I never have met the persons of that name here.

A search in the national telephone directory came up with 62 entries for Helleberg (including some duplicates).

There is a more or less famous picture of August Helleberg with a rotary valve tuba, possibly in F.

Jørgen Arnsted, who wrote the posting referred to by the previous poster, is now retired. He was a very fine tubist, who I have heard as well as met in person. For many years he was the most respected tuba teacher in the country.
