I've been through that, a lot, especially in the first few years when it sounded gosh awful on some days. I even quit for a month a couple of times. I think you're in the time period when you're going to find out if you really want to be a tuba player, or if you want to do something else. When you "are" a tuba player, practicing, most of the time, is a form of meditation. It's a break from other stuff that is a hassle; it's a way of being with yourself and getting to know yourself. You become the sound of the tuba. Eventually you get good enough that you can enjoy your sound even on the worse days.
Best of luck.
