a.) I had a tuning rod attached to my Alexander 163 so that control of the main tuning slide and the first valve slide are accomplished next to each other (Dave Bragunier's suggestion).
b.) I had the shank of an Alexander mouthpiece (for the old large Alexander receiver) grafted on my regular Bach 7. This matched my Bach 7 with my Alexander very well.
