Hi everyone from the UK,

Just posting a message for a few thoughts.......
Is they any advantage in spending extra money on a gold plated mouthpiece? OK they look better when they're new but with everyone i've had the gold plate wears off quicker than the silver and looks dull after two or three years where the silver always shines. I play euphonium and currently have a Denis Wick SM4 new in gold looks great at the moment, DW 5AL in silver 5 years old but plating is fine and DW 6BS in gold which looks dull and the plating is wearing off! I haven't noticed any difference in tone or anything by using a gold mouthpiece but i'm not a pro. Thoughts please!

Also I have just sold my Mirafone Euph and looking for something a little cheaper such as a Boosey & Hawkes Imperial or old Sovereign. If anyones got one for sale please let me know!

Thanks,
Jenny
