The thickness of the Conn didn't seem to be a problem. I have used the dent eraser on tubing as small as the back bow of a Yamaha trumpet (fairly thick brass) with some success. It also works well on trumpet bell stems with a tapered mandrel.
After reading your post, I took a rawhide mallet to an old, silver Besson Eb that we have in the back, then removed the dents using the dent eraser - no problem.
