There is no way a St Pete will sound like a 5/4 or 6/4 BBb Gronitz. And the quality of the St Pete is not even close to the Gronitz. Like comparing a hugo to a Lexus. To compare these 2 tubas is not even funny and it is actually an embarassing story.
All any dealer in the U.S. has to do that wants a Gronitz is get in touch with Dieter and order it. It is that easy and to say that they are hard to get is the largest crock of cow excretion I have ever heard. Get in touch with Dieter himself and order it yourself. The wait will be long but worth it and you will probably pay more than if you bought it here and you may not.
Do not be fooled, just research archives here and be enlightened.
