I played a MW 2141 for a while and only sold it to buy the Willson. This was a "1st generation" 2141 which had a few quirks (such as flat 2nd space C, sharp low C, and a flat3rd space E), most of which I ironed out with practice (i.e., pulling slides and using 3rd valve rather than 1+2) and a Dillon PS3 mouthpiece. It is like a small CC tuba, a great low range with the 5th rotor and large bore. I tried a newer one at Dillon's a while ago and they had fixed some of the quirks that were noticed before. I think the 2141 is a very underrated tuba for the price (less than $5000 new). The Willson is a better tuba, but not another $3000 worth.

Contact Baltimore Brass or Dillon's for more info on the improvements MW has made on these instruments. It is a great step up from the Besson 3+1'ers. Good luck
