Here's the story,
If you want a very good Boosey Prestige Euphoniumm, you have to sit down in a room w/ 10 brand new ones and play-test all of them. Like the other guy said, quality control is something Boosey doesn't score very high on, but they really don't seem to care because it's been this way for years when it comes to the horns that get shipped to us colonists.
Also, consider the fact that every other pro horn maker that didn't invent the Euphonium ie., Willson, Yamaha, Hirsbrunner, etc. is building a horn that plays in tune without a tuning contraption that hits you in the stomach. Besides that, they are great horns!
But seriously, there are some great musicians out there that are making a living on these instruments and sounding great doing it, both here and abroad.
