You've become proficient at transposing by octaves (bringing the melody down into the bass clef). If the parts now lie badly in your range (neither of two neighboring octaves work), then perhaps you need to transpose again.
Or...work on your range so that you can play the piece in one of the two neighboring octaves. (and then, work some more so you can play it in BOTH).
Finally, while the melody probably needs to move from octave to octave unchanged, the bass part may offer opportunities to move *phrases* (but probably not individual notes) while keeping the rest unchanged.
