Since David Roth moderates the brass 5tet egroup and has shamelessly plugged his Codetta for Hosaphone(tm) Brass Quintet, I suggested that he give all of the quintet players equal time and write a version using garden hoses for all. I never did get a reply.
Since his trumpet-range model is 8 feet long, the trombone model would be 16 feet, and the tuba in CC would involve 32 feet of hose. I suspect 5/8" garden hose might do the trick; maybe one of those big oil-fill funnels would work as a bell.
Has anyone tried this?
