Listen to great musicians. Not just brass players, but violinists, singers, -everybody. When you encounter recordings of somebody who really knocks you out, (for me it's James Galway, Maxine Sullivan & Louis Armstrong) then attempt to analyze what it is that they do to make music become magical.
