From what I remember, Mr. Novotny moved from NYC in 1979 to a midwestern state and now farms. He is/was a very private man, very devoted to his parents, and didn't want ANYTHING to do with music after his retirement. He was a warm and generous man who was a fabulous teacher and consummate player. How couldn't you love someone who built a boat in his living room. Peace.
