Pistons versus rotors is a great can of worms to open up, with many opinions for and against. I just go with the individual horn: do I like the sound; does it play well; is it ergonomic, etc. The question of whether it's piston or rotary is less important.

I suppose you could say for a GIVEN horn (eg a PT-6...rotary versus a PT-6P...piston) there is a more valid comparison, but there are other factors even here: longer lead-pipe on the rotary horn changes the tone (and intonation characteristics???), for example. Others please step in here if this is inaccurate, and also, please add other factors for a given model.
