During my Marine field band tenure we used Kings, Conn, and Yamaha. I liked my King 2350 as far as comfort over the Conn 20j. Personally did not like the short valves on the 20j. But the Yamaha was the lightest and had a lot lighter sound then the others. This could be a plus or a minus. Plus if you have some real low blatty players will help clean up the sound. Now for presence and power the Conn is the heavier of the 3 and sure can take a beating. Trust me we tried...haha. But I liked the lighter Yamaha because after doing a 12 mile Mardi Gras parade you want light!!
