First, learn how to spell excerpts :)

Next, I would not not advise you to embark upon this task until you've had the chance to work with a private teacher. Any good teacher will tell you when you're ready to work on excerpts. A former teacher of mine used to talk about playing as food groups. First, you have your warmup, which is breakfast. This must be done daily, as to build energy for the day. The next food group was your meat and potatoes. This is the daily work that one does to improve things like tounging, sound, breathing, etc.. etc... Finally, things like solos and excerpts which might be more "fun" to play should be saved for last, or dessert. These should not be attempted until you've built up a strong base of the other stuff.

Just my opinion..

good luck
