Auditions should be treated with an animalistic passion. You should do everything possible to secure that position. Anything from tampering with someone else's tuba at the audition site to loosing an opponents music.
When I was in high school, I told the director that I would give the Allstate music to my buddy. But, I whited out the tempo markings and made another copy for distribution. Sorry to say, that he did not make it.
Just my opinion on auditioning.
