Besson F bassbone is French

A week or so ago we had a thread opened by Dana Howe partially on a Besson 3 piston bassbone in F.

I wondered if it really was in G, but was wrong about that. A few hours ago Dana sent me a photo of the elaborate bell engraving/stamping.

That revealed the reason for that instrument not being in G. It simply is not British, but comes out of the (original) French Besson maker of Paris.
