The bell on a BAT is going to make "just about" the same big WHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tone regardless of whether the mouthpiece is deep/shallow - funnel/bowl.

Further, if the mouthpiece throat is a good "resistance fit" for the player and the top cup width is a good fit for the player (well...assuming a "decent" mouthpiece) the low range, high range, etc., are all going to work just about as well with a wide range of "suitable mouthpieces". Once a player gets used to and comfortable with "any good" mouthpiece in particular on their BAT, they will do well regardless as to whether it is bowl/funnel, deep/shallow, etc.

In contrast, smaller (particularly shorter - ie. "F") tubas are more tone-quality sensitive to mouthpieces. Their bells are smaller - rendering the tone production less "self-generating" - and the sound quality of these instruments is more related to what happens in the mouthpiece itself.

Think of this: Four players honkin' on BATS are going to sound far more similar than four players honkin' on F tubas - even if the F tubas are all the same make and model.
