I bought matching horns for myself. I play a Willson Eb mostly but I just bought a Willson CC to replace a CC tuba that I sold last year. I am pretty happy with my decision and maybe for me it might make things a little easier for switch back and forth. The intonation on the two horns are quite alike with alternate fingerings that I am used to on the Eb also work well on the CC.

My old CC was a german rotary horn and I had only limited problems switching. The switch between piston and rotary valves was a bit of a problem on the piston horn so that might be a valid argument for at least having the same valve type on both horns. I was considering a rotary valve pt6 but the price was too good on the Willson to pass up. I am hearing that they are going to go up in price very soon.
