The main advantage over other trigger-systems as I see it is the ability to alter the pitch of Open notes. Sure, the problem G soulds better played 1&3 (still flat) but it then takes on a 'lumpy/bubbly' tone all of its own. As mentioned, ALL notes could be adjusted to suit to some degree with valve-slides at ones disposal if need be...
